PROJECT SYAHI
Project Syahi endeavors to achieve a plastic-free world by replacing plastic pens with pens made of upcycled paper with a plantable seed at the rear-end.
-
Introducing an alternative to plastic pens to reduce the plastic menace.
-
Providing the community a sustainable business model to help them become independent and successful entrepreneurs.
-
Promoting the idea of planting trees for a greener tomorrow.
OBJECTIVES
In India alone, more than 1.65 crore pens are disposed of every month. These pens cannot be recycled and ultimately end up in landfills and waterways, adding to the plastic waste already generated by society.

business Model
We, at Enactus Kirori Mal, came up with a solution to reduce the plastic menace by producing paper pens. Project Syahi serves the dual purpose of sustaining not only the environment but also an underprivileged community.
With the link that we have managed to establish between the community and potential buyers, the people of the community now have an assured alternative source of income, with no one to stop them from becoming entrepreneurs.
impact
The women have been able to conquer the problems of patriarchy and poverty. Project Syahi has helped them break free from the chains of patriarchy and become self-reliant.
