JANBHOOMI
Project JanBhoomi aims to tackle the problem of land degradation and waste management, which is a source of major concern given that the amount of fertile land is continuously decreasing in contrast to the world population.

Replacing chemical fertilizers which degrade the soil with continuous use.

Including waste management composting under the ambit of the Project, thereby reducing improper disposal of waste.

Combating eutrophication by encouraging flower composting, as an alternative to chemical fertilizers.

Promoting an organic lifestyle and spreading awareness about the diminishing green cover in urban areas through our gardening toolkit.

Inculcating entrepreneurship skills in our community for the Project, and providing a source of sustainable livelihood.
OBJECTIVES
Project JanBhoomi, in collaboration with IARI, was able to successfully market its first batch of compost. Setting up pits in areas like Vasant Kunj and Pitampura, JanBhoomi started the process of reaching new heights.
In October 2018, Enactus KMC collaborated with the Government of Haryana to create a direct impact at the root level. The team visited multiple villages in Palwal, Haryana, and convinced the farmers to switch from chemical fertilizers to organic compost.
Project JanBhoomi involves the production of compost, with the help of flower composting techniques, using the flower waste of Birla Mandir, Delhi.
The project also specialises in gardening tools, as a part of our Gardening Toolkit. It includes “five high-quality tools” namely; Hand Cultivator, Fork, Trowel, Weeder, and Transplanter along with a packet of our flower compost.

We have 2 technical experts on board and have approached an expert from IARI for further specialized insights for the Project. Biodegradable packaging is available for smaller quantities of compost.

Waste management will help reduce the burden on municipalities for waste disposal in overburdened landfills. Our Gardening Toolkit would also advocate an organic way of life and increase environmental consciousness.

Aforementioned points of reducing land degradation and eutrophication help contribute towards a greener and cleaner future for all, and would also reduce flower waste that pollutes the water bodies in urban areas.

Project JanBhoomi, through its collaboration with the Government of Haryana, was able to save the farmers of Haryana a huge amount of money by providing the better alternative of organic compost.
Economic
vision
The land covers 29% of the Earth. The vision of this project is to ensure that the fertility of the available land should be maximized to make the most of this limited resource and maximize productivity. Using waste in a constructive manner will also be a major aim of this Project. The most important aim, however, is to ensure financial independence of the community associated with us in this Project.
